    Classification and process principle of thermal transfer printing.

    Thermal transfer printing is usually divided into hot-melt transfer printing and sublimation transfer printing. Hot-melt transfer printing is often used for cotton products, but the disadvantage is that it has poor feel and air permeability. Dye-sublimation transfer printing is often used in the transfer printing of polyester. The disadvantage is that the plate-making cost is high.

    The sublimation method is commonly used in thermal transfer printing. The principle is to use the sublimation characteristics of disperse dyes to transfer disperse dyes to synthetic fibers such as polyester and fix them under high temperature conditions. The specific process is to pass the pattern through the plate-making roller or flat screen, or it can be printed on the paper by a rotary screen printing machine with disperse dyes or inks.

    The characteristics of thermal transfer printing

    2. It reduces the post-treatment processes such as fixation and washing, thus avoiding sewage problems. It is an environmentally friendly printing and dyeing method. Since the liquid absorption capacity of the transfer printing base paper is much less than that of direct printing on the fabric, the cost is relatively reduced.

    3. Defects caused by complex color matching and pattern registration can be found when printing decals, and the defective decals can be cut off before transferring to the fabric, so as to ensure the high quality of the finished fabric after transfer rate.

    4. Due to the minimal penetration of the base paper, the transfer printing fabric has a clearer pattern, a more distinct layer, and a more uniform color. The three-dimensional effect is strong, especially in the halftone effect.
